Activity Description

Are you familiar with management strategies for adult patients with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA)? Follow this 1-hour educational activity to hear from two leading experts in the field of SMA telling how they individualize care for different types of patient with SMA in their clinics. Dr Valeria Sansone from Milan, Italy, and Dr Anthony Geraci from Great Neck, NY, USA, discuss diagnosis, multidisciplinary management, and treatment options for adult patients with SMA. Target Audience

This activity is intended for neurologists, neuromuscular disease specialists, physical therapists, and other health care professionals (HCPs) engaged in the care of patients with SMA.

Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

• Develop individualized care plans for treatment and multidisciplinary management of adolescent/adult patients with SMA
• Discuss real-world experience on current treatments for adolescent/adult patients with SMA
• Define realistic treatment goals in concordance with the patient
• Apply appropriate outcome measures to evaluate clinical changes and impact of treatment
